FEDERAL TAX

Fill out form 5695 to claim the federal solar tax credit.

You can also claim the residential energy-efficient property credit on Form 5695 when you acquire alternative energy equipment for use in your home. The allowable 30% tax break is up to $3,000 per piece of nonbusiness purchased and installed within one year - so don't wait!
